While carrying out their first festivals in the early nineties the two Wacken founders Holger Hübner and Thomas Jensen soon became aware of the difficulty and complexity of the music business. Through years of experience and establishing contacts in all areas of live entertainment they managed to lay the foundations for the ICS network that covers all sections and aspects of the planning, implementation and evaluation process of the world?s biggest heavy metal festival.
For the aligned business segments ? events, ticketing, management, booking, online (marketing, advertising, radio, portal, community, IPTV), label, sales, promotion, newcomer, publishing, artist support and travels ? specialised companies were founded and numerous cooperations established to take professional care of the respective needs and wants of all stakeholders 365 days a year; e.g. for artists and their management, local authorities, production crew, all ICS partners and sponsors and of course the fans and the metal community.
