Engel formed back in early 21st century & set their aim to give the world their Propaganda. The band was created by Niclas Engelin Marcus Sunesson to offer something more than what the typical Swedish Death Metal scene had been presenting up until that point. The idea being was to be more creative with musical influences that had inspired them as musicians whilst retaining the strong Metal feel that had come out of their home town.

Niclas Engelin was already a well respected musician from his time in Gardenian & Passenger as well as being a more than able deputy to In Flames. Marcus Sunesson also another much admired musician who had spent time in The Crown whilst also moonlighting with The Haunted (2001-02) is widely regarded as being one of the best Guitarists in Sweden.

Joining these two six string shredders are vocalist Mangan Klavborn from the acclaimed Swedish band Headplate, drummer Mojjo of The Project Hate & finally bassist Steve Drennan formally from Locus & Amon Amarths touring bass player to complete the ultimate lineup for this band.

The image they create is one of an open space as big as the the choruses Engel conjure up. Here to chart a new course for heavy music from 2007 with the much acclaimed debut album "Absolute Design" is a band from Gothenburg from whom music provides the ultimate rush. They understand the delicate balance between skill and brutality, of drawing the heaviest dynamic out of the sweetest melody and of marrying classic metal influences with new-school characteristics. Now with the success of the first offering, Engel are set to Launch 2009 with their much anticipated release of the Second Album!
