24 Jahre Festivalgeschichte
Was 1990 als kleines Sparten Festival an der norddeutschen Westküste mit 800 Gästen entstand hat sich nach 24 Jahren zum weltweit grössten Hevy Metal Musikfestival gemausert. Jedes Jahr kommen mehr als 75.000 begeisterte Musikfans nach Wacken.
Von Fans für Fans das war das Motto, unter dem die Verantwortlichen Thomas Jensen und Holger Hübner vor nunmehr fast 24 Jahren das erste Rock-spektakel planten. An diesem Motto wird bis heute festgehalten. Es gibt kaum eine Rockgrösse aus dem Hard and Heavy Bereich die nicht schon einmal in Wacken dabei war. Ob SAXON, Motörhaed oder Scorpions, für alle war und ist das Wacken Open Air Festival ein fester Bestandteil im Terminkalender.
Die Organisation dieser Grossveranstaltung liegt zu 100% bei der ICS Festival Service GmbH. Nicht nur die Gestaltung des Bühnen- und Rahmenprogrammes sondern auch die komplette Logistik liegt in der Hand der ICS Festival Service GmbH.
Es hat sich mehr als einmal bewährt vom ersten Spatenstich bis zur letzten Säuberungsaktion alles in einer Hand zu lassen.

Be prepared for the first and the biggest Metal Cruise in Europe: From 5th to 12th of May 2013, the FULL METAL CRUISE brings the real festival feeling to the sea.
The FULL METAL CRUISE starts in Hamburg and enters the harbors of Southampton (UK), Le Havre (F) and Amsterdam (NL). After 7 days full of sea & relaxing and Metal & party feeling, the ship then returns to Hamburg with a special show at the harbor anniversary fest.
Whilst there will be big fireworks and a special show on onboard, the cruise will return to the harbor and this will be one of the many things leading to a great overall experience for every metal-sailor!

In the many lounges onboard, the metalheads can party and meet the artists – nowhere else it is possible to have such a direct connection to the musicians.

On this seven days FULL METAL CRUISE, the food and drinks are included alongside with the floating festival program: drinks such as beer, wine and softdrinks are free of charge at all times, from 18 o´clock on also most of the spirituous beverages and cocktails will be for free. In addition, there is no need to pay for the food in most of the restaurants onboard.

The promoters of the Wacken Open Air and of the Reeperbahn Festival are proud to invite you to the first Hamburg Metal Dayz.
From September 20th to 22nd, about 20 bands from the heavier range of music will play at the Markthalle, among them Heaven Shall Burn, Doro, Saxon, Callejon and Kill Devil Hill. There will be panels and roundtable discussions, where music business insiders share their knowledge and discuss topics like „Career aspirations & working in the music business“, „The future of Metal“ and „How to push your own band“. The fans can meet the artists, and therewill be exhibitions, readings, comedy and workshops for musicians.
Another point of interest for business visitors from the Metal genre will be the Reeperbahn Festival Campus with conference program, networking events and showcases. Accreditation is needed (see below). On, Friday, 21nd a special conference panel titled „Fascination Metal: What‘s working better in the world of heavy music?“ will be held, dealing with the reasons for the economic strength of Metal and its commercial characteristics. At the „Metal meet & greet“ that‘s happening afterwards at the Reeperbahn Festival Lounge, visitors and artists from the Hamburg Metal Dayz will have the opportunity for an exchange with the delegates of the Reeperbahn festival.

The Wacken Open Air is the most important event for the Metal scene worldwide. Established in 1990, every year more than 70.000 fans from all over the world are traveling to that small village next to the North sea to experience Metal and Hard Rock live and open air.
As an urban club event, the Reeperbahn Festival has been attracting fans to the bars, clubs and theatres of Hamburg-St. Pauli since 2006. In addition to 20.000 visitors every year 2.000 representatives of the music and live entertainment business from 30 different nations gather at the most important industry meeting in Germany.
